i love apple...

you may know that i love google.. well, i love apple as well.. for mainly the same reasons. entrepreneurship, innovative thinking and revolutionary cool products. It makes me want to work for these companies... unfortunately.. .. the feeling may not be mutual.

one of their most recent incredible products is the iPhone. i love the iPhone .. and apparently so do other people. voted invention/gadget of the year by numerous publications (Time, Wired, Stuff, etc) it truly is changing the landscape of mobile technology. i can go on ad nauseum about the device.. but i'll spare you ;)

apple just had a keynote on the 'iPhone software roadmap' on march 6th where they talk about the SDK and Enterprise Solutions that their are now developing/launching.

a fun video... but geeks only need bother applying. even then the 1hr plus video is fast forward-able.

  • funny guy..

    ahem.. got one last nov.
got someone to bring it to me from nyc. it's less then the ipod touch here.
    cracked it and using it.

it's actually the wife's. it was a gift to her for her birthday.

  • my wife bought, at my request, a macbook pro - http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/ - nov '06. it's a very nice machine that draws a lot of glances when i use it out of the house, but would never by the 'pro' again. too expensive for just a nice looking laptop. i would however buy an imac. very reasonably priced, and you get all the benefits of all the mac software.

  • ahh,.. but have you seen the new macbook pros? with multi-touch in the touch pad?
i agree. the hardware stats does not make up for the discrepancy in price.
but you're not only paying for the hardware. design - mechanical and aesthetic - but mainly OS. true that goes only so far but the innovation in software and hardware has finally come close to justifying the price point. my next computer purchase is going to be a macbook. which one i don't know yet.

  • oh yeah. totally agree. the wife almost NEVER tries to get on the computer anymore. she does all her surfing and emailing from the iphone. it's quite the gadget and expanding the idea of the smart phone.

  • how much did it cost to unlock the phone? is the phone on a rogers plan? any issues with getting software updates after unlocking?

By Anonymous kingkhang, At March 19, 2008 8:56 AM

  • the same reason i wouldn't pay someone to do home renos is the same reason i wouldn't pay someone to unlock an iphone. 'cause i can figure it out myself and i'm cheap.
on rogers. no issues up to 1.1.1
after that i stopped trying. i don't even know if you can update to 1.1.3 or not. ..by the time i look into it they'll probably sell iphone's here.
